Weather Systems Installed in EOC

bulletDavis Weather Station: This station is mounted on the roof and sends weather data to the dispatchers and the EOC. Data includes: wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, rain fall, etc. This system will also send realtime data directly to the National Weather Service and this web page via dedicated internet connection (see above).
bulletStorm Ready Weather Radar: This radar service is connected directly to the National Weather Service (NWS) and has a whole host of different features. It has access to most all of the NWS Radar products. This software will also send a radar image to this web site every 5 minutes.
bulletInterWarn Software: This is mostly a text based software system this is also tied directly to the NWS. It provides realtime warning and weather info.
bulletBaron Satellite Radar: This new system utilizes the XM Satellite system. Set up in the dispatch center, dispatchers will have a wide variety of radar related info. Street level mapping, ability to plot paths of storms, wind direction, lightning strikes are just a few of the features.
bulletEMWIN Satellite: This is another system that is tied directly to the NWS. This also provides realtime warning and text products.

Each of the products listed above are necessary of a county of our size to achieve the Storm Ready designation. Some might seem redundant, but that is the point. We need to have back up systems in place.
